Celebrate winter with us! We decorate and light a tree every year and host a Winter Skate with Santa at the Treadwell Ice Arena during the winter holidays.

Douglas Community Tree Lighting

Friday, November 23, 2012, at 7:00 pm. 105 Savikko Drive, Pioneer Pavilion. Free. An official community tree-lighting ceremony is held each year.  Our program will begin by a traditional tree-lighting ceremony with caroling.  We ask everyone to bring a flashlight and please leave the dogs at home.  Caroling, refreshments, ceremony, and live music accompany the tree-lighting. Skate with Santa

Friday, November 23, 2012 8:00 to 9:15 pm.  105 Savikko Drive, Treadwell Ice Arena. Free to children 12 & under.   Skate with Santa and his merry elves at the Arena.  The Treadwell Arena staff decorates the arena and plays holiday music.  Wear your bells and festive clothes! Douglas 4th of July Committee pays the skating and skate rental fees for the children 12 & under. Sponsored by the Douglas 4th of July Committee & Juneau/City Borough, Parks and Recreation. Tuba Christmas Concert

Sunday, November 25, 2012 3:00 pm, Free, 1106 3rd Street, Douglas Community United Methodist Church. Free. Tuba Christmas Ensemble, directed by Ken Guiher puts on this beloved joyful concert to start the holiday season in Douglas and Juneau.
